From “Indian school names monkey god chairman - CNN.com“:

He’s a revered Hindu monkey god. And now, he’s the chairman of an Indian business school.

All Hindus know that Hanuman can lift mountains and leap oceans, but ancient texts make no mention of his business acumen.

We’ve managed to fix a lot of the bugs in the highlighter, still a ways to go. Not a lot of good news these days, so we’ll try to lighten things up with some jokes.

A guy walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm and says, “A beer please, and one for the road.”

A lot of the bugs in getting highlights to show up have been fixed. If you highlighted something in the past and it didn’t show up, it might show up now. Go ahead and check, we’ll wait.

An amnesiac walks into a bar and asks the bartender, “Do I come here often?”

Deleting should work. The highlighter colors should work better across browsers, too (sorry mac users, still working on it).

A guy with dyslexia walks into a bra.

We prettied up the display page for you all and added support for sending highlights via email (though it doesn’t seem to be particularly popular). We’ll have some new features for you all to try out pretty soon.

We saved the best for last:

A robot walks into a bar. The bartender says “We don’t serve robots.” The robot says “You will.”

No news is bad news.

We’re having problems with major news sites today. We’re trying to fix it up, but we’ve gotten reports of problems with newyorktimes.com, cnn.com, foxnews.com and even theonion.com :-(

Major media sites have more moving parts and they can be tricky to highlight. Don’t worry, we’re on it.

The news is depressing anyway. If something important happens, we’ll hear about it on twitter.

The new firefox addon is here!

Be the first one on your ip subnet block to rock the new Awesome Highlight Firefox Addon!

We tried to make it smaller and cuter for you. It went from all of this:

To just this in the bottom corner of your browser:

If you like it, please drop by our firefox addon page and leave us a review

If you have the old version, you’ll have to update to the new one (sorry).

Pardon us while we get our Johnny Rico on

People ask what we’re doing this weekend. Here’s a hint:

This is Awesome!

300 people have either saved our bookmarklet or installed our firefox extension! We hope it’s been useful.

You spoke, we listened

We’ve heard from a lot of you over the past week. The two things we hear most often are: “My highlights didn’t show up” and “This is cool, but where’s the firefox extension?”

If you’ve had problems highlighting, we apologize. We want the highlighter to work in all versions of all browsers and we’re spending many long nights in the most secret and technologically advanced areas of the Awesome Labs trying to solve the problems.

In the meantime, we are proud to report that we’ve got a bookmark and firefox extension.

We tried to keep it simple, but let’s go over it one more time for the people in the back:

We sure would love to hear more from all of you. Maybe if we put up a forum?
